6 AXIS--CNC LATHE MACHINE
What Is 6 Axis CNC Lathe Machine?
6-axis CNC lathes are a step above 5-axis CNC lathes. These superior machines use an additional axis of rotation along the Z-axis, resulting in significantly higher speeds compared to the 5-axis varieties. The additional axes allow the tool to make more movements and transitions at higher speeds without sacrificing accuracy.

Benefits of 6 Axis CNC Lathe Machine
Reduce the cost
6-axis CNC lathes can perform a variety of machining tasks. CNC lathes have high output, few errors, low production costs, and high cost performance. It can improve production efficiency and reduce costs.
Versatility
6-axis CNC lathes can be reprogrammed to produce entirely new products in a short period of time, making them ideal for short or long-term production. You can change programming without it being time consuming or costly.
Work faster
The main advantage of using a 6-axis CNC lathe compared to a 5-axis CNC lathe is that the 6-axis significantly speeds up the work. This is because the additional axis of rotation means more sides of the workpiece can be machined with fewer fixtures.
High precision
The 6-axis CNC lathe can achieve high precision with the help of CNC technology, and the precision is very stable, which is very important for the processing of precision parts. At the same time, CNC lathes can reduce errors caused by human factors and improve quality stability.
Application of 6 Axis CNC Lathe Machine
Automobile industry: 6-axis CNC lathes can be used for precision machining of automotive parts, such as engine camshafts, wheel hubs, brake discs and other parts.
Aerospace industry: 6-axis CNC lathes can be used for precision machining and assembly in the aerospace field, such as engine blades, restraint rings, stators and other components.
Electronic industry: 6-axis CNC lathes can be used for the manufacturing and precision processing of electronic products, such as mobile phone casings, electronic components, etc.
Medical industry: 6-axis CNC lathes can be used for the production and precision machining of medical devices such as syringe tips, amplifiers and other components.
Oil and Gas Industry: 6-axis CNC lathes are used in the oil and gas industry to produce precise and reliable parts such as pistons, cylinders, rods, pins and valves.
Machinery manufacturing industry: 6-axis CNC lathes are used in the machinery manufacturing industry and can process various mechanical parts, shafts, gear shafts, ball screws, guide rails and other precision parts.
6-axis CNC lathes are mainly made of various metals, such as aluminum alloy, stainless steel, alloy steel, titanium alloy, etc. These materials have the advantages of corrosion resistance, high strength, high hardness, and high stability.

Components of 6 Axis CNC Lathe Machine
Machine tool body
The main body of a 6-axis CNC lathe usually consists of a bed, ram, spindle box, workbench, etc. The bed is the basic structure of a CNC lathe. Control the position of the workpiece in the X, Y, and Z directions through sliding motion. Control the speed and direction of the workpiece, fix and support the workpiece.
CNC system
The CNC system is the core component of the CNC lathe and is used to control and monitor the machining process of the machine tool. CNC systems usually consist of hardware and software.
Execution system
The execution system is responsible for converting the instructions issued by the CNC system into mechanical actions and controlling the lathe to perform precise processing movements in the X, Y, and Z directions.
Auxiliary system
The auxiliary system provides auxiliary functions for the 6-axis CNC lathe, including coolant system, tool magazine, automatic tool changer, fixture, etc. The coolant system is used to cool the cutting area and reduce the processing temperature.
The Using Steps of 6 Axis CNC Lathe Machine
Check whether the power and gas supply of the lathe are normal, and ensure that the lathe is in a safe state. Turn on the main power switch of the lathe and confirm that the control system starts up normally. Check whether the lubrication system is working properly and whether the tools and fixtures are installed correctly.
Open the CNC lathe programming software and write the processing program according to the processing requirements of the workpiece. Select the appropriate tool according to the geometry of the workpiece and the machining process, and set the cutting parameters of the tool accordingly. Set the coordinate system and starting point of the workpiece in the program to determine the feed speed of the tool and the spindle speed.
Place the workpiece to be processed on the workpiece fixture of the lathe and secure it with bolts or clamps for safety. Adjust the positions of the fixture and workpiece to be consistent with the lathe coordinate system to ensure the position accuracy of the workpiece.
Check whether the written machining program is correct through the simulation mode of the CNC system. You can view the running trajectory of the program through the graphical interface or code. Adjust the relative positions of the tool and workpiece to match the path in the program.
Load the debugged program into the CNC system and switch the system to automatic mode. Start the CNC lathe and start automatic processing. The CNC system will control the movement of each axis of the lathe according to the path, diameter and parameters set in the program. Monitor the machining process to ensure normal operation of the lathe.
After the processing is completed, close the CNC lathe and stop processing. Clean the processing site and remove chips, lubricating oil and other debris. Check the processing results and measure the dimensional accuracy and surface quality of the workpiece to ensure compliance with requirements.
